alt.
alt. is a small art museum dedicated to exhibiting inventive and unconventional artists who encourage critical thinking, suggest a new perspective and challenge the traditional methods and ideas within the art world today.
Located in Portland, Oregon, the museum features studio spaces for emerging artists, creating the opportunity for artistic experimentation and conceptual growth. Authentic interactions are encouraged between established and emerging artists, scholars and the general public, and are facilitated by exhibitions, artist receptions and open studios. The museum aims to set itself apart as an eclectic and irregular environment that inspires progressive progress.
The identity for alt. blends clean and simple elements with dynamic typography so the museum’s mission can be successfully represented, while allowing space for the artists’ work to communicate. The alt. studio spaces have the more experimental design collateral. Overall, the identity strives to give the museum a strong voice within the city, bringing attention to exhibitions and events.
